Fancy Flowers from Kaffe

Instructor – Nancy Trudeau & Julie Hopkins

Nancy Trudeau was a practicing architect in California for forty years. She retired 13 years ago, moved to Georgia and took up quilting and gardening. Four years ago, she moved to Smithfield to be close to her grandchildren and has continued her love for quilting and gardening. She participates in several bees in her local area and is a member of the Tidewater Quilters Guild.

Julie Hopkins has a degree in fine arts. She was a floral designer before taking over her father’s mail order ham business, Smithfield Farms. She has been active in Ruritans, was a superstar volunteer at Smithfield Events, and has been involved in many community events. She was new to quilting when she and Nancy formed Angelquilters Smithfield.

Nancy and Julie are the co-founders of Angelquilters Smithfield, a ministry of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Smithfield, VA that makes quilts for children in need in the Tidewater area.
